Tope Alabi Gives Canada Pastor 24 Hours Over Toluwanisings Death Claims

Gospel singer Tope Alabi has given a Canada-based preacher named Tayo Kumuyi 24 hours to retract Facebook posts that linked her to the death of fellow gospel minister Toluwanisings or face a lawsuit. Sources reported the demand came in a formal letter from her lawyers at Oakmount Legal Practitioners, signed by Toluwanimi Okunade and dated October 24.

The posts, made between October 20 and 24 on the Pastor Tayo Ministries page, accused her of murder and ritual killing connected to Toluwanisings, whose real name was Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji. He died on October 14 at age 41. Alabi’s lawyers stated she had publicly mourned him and that no evidence supports the claims.

The letter also referenced a subsequent message that appeared to threaten her, saying no legal notice would protect her. Sources noted the lawyers warned that failure to remove the posts, issue a retraction and apologise within 24 hours could lead to civil action, complaints to Meta and referrals to law enforcement, regardless of the pastor’s location in Canada.

As of 1:18 p.m. WAT on October 25, no public response from the pastor or confirmation that the posts had been taken down had been reported by the outlets covering the letter. Alabi’s team has described the allegations as false and challenged the publisher to produce any supporting evidence.
