“I Be First Bank Ambassador”: Portable Says Bank Officials Visited His Home With Gifts (Video)

Street-pop singer Portable (Habeeb Okikiola) says officials of First Bank visited him at home with money and gifts, and he now calls himself the bank’s ambassador. As of 7:35 AM WAT on Wednesday, 21 October, First Bank had not announced any ambassador deal with him.

So the “First Bank signs Portable” posts on X are fan jokes built on his own video, not an official signing.

What Portable said

In the video he shared, the “Zazu” singer thanks the bank for the visit and says he does not regret banking with it.

“First Bank came to greet me at home. They came with money. I am glad that you guys came to see me. I be First Bank ambassador,” he says.

He adds that the bank gave him a POS machine and wanted to explain how to open a dollar account.

Why fans are talking

The clip has drawn thousands of likes and hundreds of reposts on X, mostly from fans laughing that the bank has turned him from critic to promoter. Portable has previously complained publicly about his dealings with the bank, which is why many find the turnaround funny.

What is not confirmed

UNVERIFIED: Any paid endorsement or official ambassador role. First Bank has not posted about the visit, and Portable has not shared contract details, dates or terms.

It is also not clear when the visit took place or which bank officials came.
